Ali Vakilian
Speaker Bio
Ali Vakilian is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Virginia Tech and a core faculty member at the Sanghani Center. His research focuses on the algorithmic foundations of machine learning and data science, including algorithms for massive data, learning-augmented algorithms, and trustworthy machine learning. Before joining Virginia Tech, he was a research assistant professor at TTIC and earned his Ph.D. in EECS from MIT. He is a recipient of the 2026 NSF CAREER Award and received an Outstanding Student Paper Highlight Award at AISTATS 2024.
